I tend to save way too many bits of paper with notes only I can decipher around the computer area which makes him crazy.

I read your note about Ma and she always appeared to me to be a bit cranky. It would have been interesting to see who would win in a battle between her and Mrs. Olsen.

Part of the Little House series took place in South Dakota. Laura lived in Duluth SD, which is about an hour or so from me, and they do a play and festival every summer. I have not gone to it but have heard it is good. I may have to pencil that in this summer.

They also have a big festival in Walnut Grove, Minnesota every year. We did go through her home once a long time ago as we were traveling through there on our way to Minneapolis.

Just an interesting bit of info to pass along your way in case you're ever on Who Wants To Be A Millionare and need to know.jjlarsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07646799010786826313noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8732879819022455787.post-12973568061754312482010-11-12T17:51:19.509-05:002010-11-12T17:51:19.509-05:00Maggie -

During a couple of years of that, I worked nights for Dillard's Dept Store. That was just the time that "Ma" (actress Karen Grassle) moved to Louisville to work as a director at Actor's Theatre of Louisville. Let's just say that she was not the nicest person to wait on and I had the unfortunate circumstances of being her 'handmaid' at both stores!!! This was LONG after Little House was airing in prime time, but I never watched a rerun the same way!

Just thought I'd throw that out there! I am sure she is a lovely person but just had a series of bad days.... like every day I saw her! Her daughter was very sweet and, at the time, was probably middle school age. That was in the late 90s or early Y2K? How time flies...

Anyway, I am glad you like the picture! ...
